The Southern Saddlebred Spring Fling and Fall Finale horse shows were both governed by Equine Sports Council - a new, non-member, non-profit organization that offers rules, standards, guidelines, marketing, officials insurance and support for grassroots horse shows that would otherwise have no governance. There is no membership requirement, but an affiliation fee is paid by each Performance Horse and Academy Rider at each show in the network. ESC grants 25% of the money collected back to the horse show to use for marketing and promotion the following year. Southern Saddlebred has chosen to use their marketing funds to sponsor the adoption fee and transport of 2 lesson horses from 2 rescue organizations for 2 saddlebred lesson programs.
Saddlebred Rescue will provide one horse* for Reimer Stables in Turin, GA.
Dreamscape Rescue will provide one additional horse* to a riding lesson program that we have not yet chosen. If you have a "needy" or growing program, particularly if you are located in an "underserved" area, please complete the following application. We will accept applications until November 15th. The winner will be selected before the end of November and will work with Dreamscape Rescue to find the right horse for their program's needs.
* Stables that are awarded a lesson horse must sign an adoption contract with the appropriate rescue organization and must follow the guidelines set forth therein.
